Printing and Services > Flexographic

Flexographic, commonly known as “Flexo” is a more cost effective alternative to offset printing. It has a maximum of 85 line screen, so the quality is just slightly less than that of offset, which ranges from 100 – 150 line screen.

Flexo works great for simple 1 – 4 color copy, or if there is printing that wraps from the front to the back of the envelope, or under the flap.  It is also ideal for return envelopes.

The Flexographic printing process is one in which the printing plate places ink directly on the paper. Printing is done from plates on which the image is raised above the non-printing surface.

Ink is applied to the raised surface while the surrounding areas are lower and do not receive ink. The inked image is then pressed directly onto the paper.

High-Speed Flexography equipment uses flexographic inks that are water-based for fast drying and are also environmentally friendly.
