Jim Skogseth and Russ Frizzell met in 1981 when Jim moved from
Chicago and accepted a position as operations manager for Boston
Envelope Company. Russ, an outside sales representative for the
company found that he and Jim shared many interests beyond
business and quickly became friends. When Boston Envelope
failed in April 1987, the two men leased 5,000 square feet of
warehouse space in an old Textile building in Foxboro,
Massachusetts and started what is now known as Bay State Envelope. Relying
on the loyalty of Russ’ customers and Jim’s tenacious ability to get
things done, the company conservatively grew, adding personnel from a
talented pool of former co-workers. The company established a reputation
for providing the very best in customer service as well as envelopes for
every application and delivering them as promised. (Bay State proudly
supports a 99.2% on time delivery rate)
